This excursion is  a  great experience of exploring the Ruins of Pompeii together with the highlights of  Naples and surroundings. After meeting at the dock we will leave the bay of Naples dominated by the Mt. Vesuvius and reach on a 30 minutes relaxing drive the Ruins of Pompeii, the most famous excavations in the world. A thrilling archaeological journey unfolds as you walk through the ancient ruins which were buried in ashes after Mount Vesuvius erupted almost 2000 years ago. You'll discover the everyday life of Rome's Imperial age at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and imagine the panic felt by the people in those last few minutes before the city was so disastrously buried, appreciating  the remains of buildings, temples, baths, markets with there restored frescoes, mosaics and marble decorations.

Vesuvius’s ashes, gases and hot clouds claimed numerous lives but at the same time preserved the existing environment and a way of life typical of the ancient Roman society at its height. The layer of ashes preserved intact people and everyday items, food and domestic animals, all remained steady and hidden until the first half of 18th Century when regular digs were organized. We will then drive on the way back proceeding towards Naples, surrounded by a breathless panorama from Posilipo, the highest spot of Naples.You can stop for an optional lunch in one of the many waterfront restaurants along the bay serving excellent fish just caught and shopping in the many little stores offering local products from Naples, admiring the beautiful Square of Plesbiscito, Castel Nuovo, Castel dell’ovo( medieval quarteror finally we will drive back to the ship.
